Redskins RB Alfred Morris sees increased role on third downs

Even though Washington Redskins running back Alfred Morris @Trey_Deuces has been playing the vast majority of snaps as the team's featured back, he was often subbed-out on third downs. That was not the case on Sunday against the Philadelphia Eagles. On 9-of-11 third downs, Morris stayed in the game. This change means a reduced role for Evan Royster @Evan_Royster and a potential increase in receiving production for Morris.

Fantasy Analysis:

Morris' production has tailed off in recent weeks, yet he remains a very viable and successful RB2 for fantasy owners. On the season, Morris only has six receptions and that number could begin to slowly increase with more reps on third down. It also helps that Washington got back on track with a convincing 31-6 win over Philly on Sunday. Washington is still mathematically alive in the playoff hunt, so there is still plenty to play for looking ahead to your fantasy postseason.
