Denver Broncos running back Willis McGahee is out six to eight weeks after suffering a torn MCL. There is also a report out there that says McGahee has a broken leg. The ten-year vet is scheduled to miss the remainder of the regular season and there is no guarantee he will be ready should the Broncos make a deep push into the playoffs. Backup RB Ronnie Hillman
and Lance Ball
will likely split duties from here on out.
Fantasy Analysis:
This past Sunday, Hillman had 12 carries for 43 yards (3.6 ypc) and Ball rushed for 35 yards on six carries (5.8 ypc). For the time being, it looks like Hillman will play mostly on first and second down with Ball being used sparringly and in obvious passing situations. Also of note, Ball lost of a fumble last week. Both backs have been utilized on occasion as receivers out of the backfield. Denver plans on working out free agents on Tuesday.
