Green Bay coach disappointed with RB James Starks

Despite rushing the ball 25 times against Detroit on Sunday, Green Bay Packers running back James Starks @James44Starks was publicly criticized by head coach Mike McCarthy. "As far as our running game, we left a lot of production on the field was my conclusion after going through the tape and going through the grading sessions with the coaches," McCarthy said. He went on to say that he mismanaged the game by not giving RB Alex Green @AGreen_20 any carries.

Fantasy Analysis:

Up until last week, Green saw anywhere from 10 to 26 touches for five straight games. His lowest total yardage output in any of those games was 63 yards. Starks averaged just 3.0 yards per carry Sunday. For the year, Green is averaging 3.1 ypc so the difference between the two backs is negligible. The bottom line for fantasy owners is that neither of these guys is particularly great and it's only a matter of starting the guy who happens to touch the ball more frequently. Although McCarthy explained that he wanted to get Green more involved, that doesn't necessarily provide specifics. That could be 15 touches, it could be three. This type of ambiguity should avoided altogether as we head into the final homestretch of the fantasy season.
