San Francisco 49ers quarterback Alex Smith has been medically cleared to play after passing all of his concussion tests. Despite his recovery, the team still appears to be planning on starting QB Colin Kaepernick
in Week 12 against the New Orleans Saints. Last week, the second-year signal caller threw for 243 yards and two scores. Coach Jim Harbaugh informed the both players on Wednesday that Kaepernick would see all the first-team reps in practice.
Fantasy Analysis:
There still has not an official announcement from San Francisco, but all signs are pointing to Kaepernick. His ability to run and pass should have fantasy owners' full attention. Let's not forget that he played very well against the Chicago Bears defense. It is certainly a promising sign and he will need to keep it up to remain the starter for long. The 49ers are still not a lock for the playoffs, mathematically at least, and another win will take them one step closer. Kaepernick should be on a roster in every fantasy league.
