Now we know the real reason why Lions running back Mikel Leshoure
didn't play during the overtime period on Thanksgiving against the Texans. He has an ankle injury, and that injury kept him out of practice Wednesday. It was orginially and erroneously reported earlier today that Leshoure sat out of practice because of an illness. The severity of the injury is unknown. Joique Bell
and Kevin Smith
would pick up the carries if Leshoure has to miss any game time.
Fantasy Analysis:
Tim Twentyman of the Detroit Lions' official website wrote that he doesn't expect Leshoure to miss Sunday's game against the Colts, but it's kind of early to make that call. The Colts have been a little bit better against the run lately, so maybe this matchup isn't as easy as it looked 6-7 weeks ago. With Leshoure at less than 100 percent and having his fantasy value largely based on touchdowns anyway, he is a low-end RB2 this week.
