Panthers WR Brandon LaFell has foot sprain

Carolina Panthers wide receiver Brandon LaFell @Blafell1 sprained his foot in Week 13 against the Kansas City Chiefs. The injury was described as "of undetermined severity." Head coach Ron Rivera added, "(LaFell) sprained the foot and we'll see how that goes." The former LSU standout will undergo tests to determine the seriousness of the injury. LaFell struggled Sunday after caught eight passes for 167 yards and two scores in his two previous contests.

Fantasy Analysis:

LaFell has been a decent WR3/flex play for parts of the season, but he hasn't quite played up to most fantasy owners' consistency preferences. He has only caught more than five passes in a game once and that came back in Week 2 and he has not eclipsed 100 receiving yards this year. With Cam Newton struggles with consistency issues himself, it was unlikely that any of the Panthers would have a good year. Carolina's offense has a long way to go before it can support multiple fantasy receivers.
