Redskins QB Robert Griffin III has sprained knee, no ligament damage

Redskins quarterback Robert Griffin III @RGIII looked to suffer a severe knee injury during the fourth quarter of Sunday's win over the Ravens. However, that turned out to be not true. While the true severity of the injury isn't known yet, an MRI has shown no torn ligaments in his right knee. Griffin was hurt while running for a first down late in the game. His body got turned parallel to the ground, and Haloti Ngata rammed through Griffin's right leg, hyperextending the knee. Griffin limped off the field for one play, then returned for four more plays before leaving for good. Kirk Cousins @KirkCousins8' finished the game -- and completed the come-from-behind win -- in place of Griffin.

Fantasy Analysis:

It looked really bad, but the news so far has been good. Griffin was able to walk off the field after the win under his own power. He has no bone or ligament damage, and he's already vowing to "fight through" the pain next week against the Browns. RGIII will definitely miss some practice time this week. This story will have many, many updates during the week, but you can cautiously expect Griffin to start again in seven days.
