Buffalo Bills head coach Chan Gailey confirmed Monday that running back Fred Jackson
was out for the remainder of the 2012 season after injuring his knee. Jackson will likely be placed on injured reserve. This marks the second straight season that Jackson will finish the regular season injured and shelved. Jackson sprained his MCL Sunday during Buffalo's 15-12 loss against the St. Louis Rams.
Fantasy Analysis:
Jackson has had a tough year and given the explosiveness of his teammate C.J. Spiller
, this may be mark the end of the 31-year-old's role as a potential featured back. Jackson is also due a roster bonus is March and there's no guarantee he will remain with the club after one of his least productive seasons statistically. With the emergence of many young players this late in the season, there should be plenty of options on the waiver wire when you release Jackson.
