Redskins QB Robert Griffin III has 'mild' LCL sprain, is day-to-day

As gruesome as Robert Griffin's injury from Sunday looked, the news the Redskins got Monday on their quarterback's right knee turned out to be quite the sigh of relief. Head coach Mike Shanahan announced Monday that Griffin has a "mild" sprain of his right LCL and no damage to any other ligaments. Shanahan also said Griffin has some "mild swelling" and that he will receive "as much treatment as possible" during the week. The Redskins take on the Browns in Week 15.

Fantasy Analysis:

Shanahan said that if RG3 isn't healthy, he won't play him. But that depends on what his definition of healthy is. If Shanahan is expecting to see Griffin at 100 percent health, he might as well rule him out now because that's not going to happen. But Griffin will probably be on the field Sunday, doing close to everything as usual. He will likely miss some practice time, but it sounds like Griffin will be able to play against Cleveland, something Griffin himself told Shanahan on Monday. As one of his fantasy owners, I am shocked that he didn't suffer a more dehabilitating injury.
