There were reports floating around the media according to "league sources" that New England Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski
would begin practicing this week for the first time since fracturing his forearm on November 18. The third-year star was not seen during Wednesday's walkthrough by the media, but it is possible he practiced briefly behind closed doors, so to speak. Given Bill Belichick's unreliable relationship with the media, Gronk's status may not be clear until much later in the week.
Fantasy Analysis:
Fantasy owners should not expect Gronk to return this week, although anything is possible. Once he is healthy, he is a must-start, no second-guessing. In just 10 games, the former Arizona Wildcat had 53 receptions for 748 yards and 10 TDs. Despite having not played in nearly a month, he still remains fantasy's top-ranked tight end in some non-PPR scoring formats. Pretty impressive, right? Only the seemingly ageless duo of Tony Gonzalez
or Jason Witten
are remotely playing at Gronk's level this year. Fantasy owners should look to Aaron Hernandez
to produce very weel as long as Gronkowski is inactive.
