The Ravens got whipped by the Broncos on Sunday and to add injury to insult, they had to finish the game without wide receiver Torrey Smith
and running back Bernard Pierce
after both players suffered concussions. Smith suffered his concussion as he hit the ground after skying for a pass in the third quarter. His day ended with one catch for 14 yards. Pierce carried the ball five times for 20 yards before he was forced out of action.
Fantasy Analysis:
Smith would have a great matchup at home against the Giants next week, but his status for that game is now completely up in the air. Plus, considering his recent stat lines, he would be a WR3 at most if available. Anquan Boldin
and tight end Dennis Pitta, who had a huge game while the Ravens were in comeback mode for the majority of the day, would seem to benefit the most if Smith has to miss game time. Pierce is not a fantasy option, but his absence could mean more carries for Ray Rice
, who touched the ball just 15 times against the Broncos, although a lot of that had to do with the game situation. Anthony Allen is listed as the Ravens' third-string running back.
