ESPN's John Clayton recently reported that "clearly Arizona has to do something at the quarterback position. I don't know if they move on (49ers QB) Alex Smith or draft a quarterback, but they've got to do something." Kolb hasn't played since Week 6 and in those first six weeks, Arizona went 4-2. One problem is that Kolb is scheduled to earn $9 million in salary plus a $2 million roster bonus in March, although none of this money is guaranteed.
Fantasy Analysis:
Kolb was placed on injured reserve on Dec. 12 only a couple days after some reports suggested he may actually play. Clearly, something isn't right in Arizona whether it's the offensive line, the erratic QB play, and even the humbling season Larry Fitzgerald
endured. There will be other options available to Arizona like Michael Vick
, Matt Flynn, and the aforementioned Smith, but can anyone really succeed behind Arizona's porous line? Fantasy owners should be very weary of any offensive player in a Cardinals uniform next season and it's never too early to begin forming these sorts of opinions. The jusy is definitely still out on Ryan Lindley and John Skelton as well.
