Report: Cardinals likely to 'do something' about QB Kevin Kolb

ESPN's John Clayton recently reported that "clearly Arizona has to do something at the quarterback position. I don't know if they move on (49ers QB) Alex Smith or draft a quarterback, but they've got to do something." Kolb hasn't played since Week 6 and in those first six weeks, Arizona went 4-2. One problem is that Kolb is scheduled to earn $9 million in salary plus a $2 million roster bonus in March, although none of this money is guaranteed.

Fantasy Analysis:

Kolb was placed on injured reserve on Dec. 12 only a couple days after some reports suggested he may actually play. Clearly, something isn't right in Arizona whether it's the offensive line, the erratic QB play, and even the humbling season Larry Fitzgerald @LarryFitzgerald endured. There will be other options available to Arizona like Michael Vick @MikeVick, Matt Flynn, and the aforementioned Smith, but can anyone really succeed behind Arizona's porous line? Fantasy owners should be very weary of any offensive player in a Cardinals uniform next season and it's never too early to begin forming these sorts of opinions. The jusy is definitely still out on Ryan Lindley and John Skelton @johnskelton19 as well.

hey thanks alot to u matt and all of ur buds---- ur info and insight helped me immensely --- this game is a great one and is getting expotentially harder every year---- my resume in this game is HOF good --- this year 9 out of 12 teams over 500 --- BUT only ONE dominant ------- there were only 2 or 3 teams in all my leagues 11-3 or better -- i believe that is where this game is headed ---- with the depth at qb#1 and rb #1s going into next year---the relative parody at the wr slots---the extinction of the serviceable TE makes me think my strategy for next year will be to matchup with two qb1s--- forget playoff sched--- get graham or gronk -hope they stay healthy--- get gronk hernandez both---- just some thoughts -- oh in my defense --- I MISSED two drafts and only had 1 thats rite i draft pick inside the top 5 (#2 mccoy ouch !!! ) happy holidays to u and all yall
