Having not played since Oct. 14, Baltimore Ravens linebacker Ray Lewis 
had been stuck on injured reserve with a potential chance to return in Week 16. Lewis will not be placed back on the active roster by Saturday's deadline which means he is now out for the remainder of the regular season. This is all part of the league's new rules regarding potential in-season returns from injured reserve. Lewis could come back for the playoffs although no official return is being speculated on at this time. Lewis suffered a triceps tear back in mid-October.
Fantasy Analysis:
Baltimore's defense has not been the same without their veteran leader. The Ravens currently rank 22nd in pass defense and 26th in rush defense. They've lost three straight games after starting the season 9-2. They have already clinched a playoff spot although they have yet to clinch the AFC North. A win over the New York Giants would clinch the division. By the end of the regular season, Lewis will have missed 14 games over the last two years.
