Jets QB Tim Tebow a 'virtual certainty' to be a Jaguar next season

The Jaguars were unable to land Tim Tebow @TimTebow in a trade before the start of this season. But league sources have told ESPN's Chris Mortensen that the Jaguars will most likely get their man prior to the 2013 season. Those sources have told Mortensen that it is a "virtual certainty" that Tebow will be playing for Jacksonville next year. Tebow, who has seen extremely limited playing time with the New York Jets, is expected to be released shortly after this season and will become an unrestricted free agent. A Jaguars source told Mortensen that there is a "high likelihood" that Tebow will be part of the team's quarterback competition heading into the season.

Fantasy Analysis:

It would be fitting that Tebow, a Jacksonville native who played his college ball 70 miles away at the University of Florida, ends up with the Jags. It seems like they have really wanted him ever since the 2010 NFL Draft. At this point, anything to get him away from the Jets, who had no idea how to use him this year, would be an upgrade. Tebow has attempted just 32 rushes and eight passes with the Jets.
Granted, this is all speculation and if Tebow is added into the Jags' mix, he would still need to compete against Blaine Gabbert @BlaineGabbert and Chad Henne for the starting QB gig. But an offense of Tebow, Cecil Shorts, Justin Blackmon, Maurice Jones-Drew and Marcedes Lewis looks pretty decent on paper. Sure, Tebow may very well drag down the fantasy value of those wideouts, but he'll probably be at least a viable QB2 because of his rushing ability.
