Update: Shorts has wisely been placed on injured reserve. His breakout season is over.
---------------------
Jaguars wide receiver Cecil Shorts
had already suffered one concussion this season. That was back on Dec. 2, and before he returned to play two weeks later, Shorts told the media that he would not rush himself back onto the field. He said his health was more important than playing a game. Considering what happened to him Sunday, you can pretty much bet Shorts is going to take the rest of the regular season. Shorts suffered a concussion, his second of the month, during the day's loss to the Patriots. He left in the fourth quarter and finished with six catches for 54 yards.
Fantasy Analysis:
Sunday ended Shorts' streak of five consecutive games with at least 10 fantasy points in games in which he played. The Mount Union product will be an interesting subject leading up to 2013 drafts. He is a big-play threat who has great range for his size and is the team's clear No. 1 wideout. He didn't really become a consistent fantasy option until Week 7, and he still ended up with 925 yards and seven touchdowns. His stock will be tied largely to the status of the Jaguars' quarterback situation (read: Tim Tebow?).
