The Bills have chosen their next head coach and they didn't have to go far to find him. Former Syracuse head coach Doug Marrone has agreed to join the Bills in the same capacity, sources have told ESPN's Adam Schefter. Marrone went 25-25 in four years with the Orange, but that represented a lot of progress for a program that had won just 26 games in the seven seasons prior to Marrone. The Orange went 8-5 this season, including a Pinstripe Bowl win.The Bills fired Chan Gailey last week after three seasons in which the Bills compiled a 16-32 record. The Bills haven't posted a winning record since 2004 and haven't made the playoffs this century.
Fantasy Analysis:
Marrone has seven seasons of NFL experience, all on the offensive side of the ball and most recently as the Saints' offensive coordinator from 2006-2008. However, the Bills don't exactly possess a quarterback like Drew Brees. I don't know what to expect from Marrone and how he will put his mark on this offense. Hopefully he understands right away that C.J. Spiller
is one of the most explosive players in the entire league and needs the ball often.
