Minnesota Vikings head coach Leslie Frazier told reporters Tuesday that quarterback Christian Ponder
is the expected starter in 2013. He also added that the coaching staff was pleased with his progress and development. Minnesota started the season 5-3 and finished the regular season 10-6. Through the first eight games, Ponder passed for 1,743 yards, ten TDs and seven INTs. In his final eight games, he passed for 1,192 yards, eight TDs and five INTs. Ponder was 7-1 at home and 3-5 on the road.
Fantasy Analysis:
Ponder established himself as a solid quarterback in 2012 but how much more can we expect? Percy Harvin
only played in nine games and still managed to lead the team in receptions (62), receiving yards (677) and had more yards after the catch (531) than any other receiver's yardage totals. Ponder needs another playmaker at wideout. Kyle Rudolph
had a very good year but does not offer much, if anything, as a deep threat. Minnesota needs rookie Jarius Wright
to continue to develop into that role.
