Eagles express interest in Notre Dame HC Brian Kelly

Despite a thorough beatdown at the hands of Alabama, Notre Dame head coach's resurgent 2012 season has garnered serious interest from the Philadelphia Eagles. Fox Sports' insider Jay Glazer describes it as "legitimate" interest in adding Kelly. ESPN's Chris Mortensen reported that an interview has already occurred and expressed that the interest is mutual. The Eagles have already missed out on Oregon's Chip Kelly, Penn State's Bill O'Brien, and former Syracuse and now current Buffalo Bills head man Doug Marrone.

Fantasy Analysis:

Kelly did wonders at Cincinnati and of course Notre Dame so it appears the Eagles' interest is justified. The question becomes what happens if Kelly falls through? Philly should have been better prepared for this transition. The writing has been on the wall for most of the season that Reid would be gone. The Eagles have a ton of talent so why hasn't a head coach jumped at the opportunity? Perhaps the Eagles plan on retaining Michael Vick @MikeVick and this has dissuaded some head coaches since the offense has be uniquely tailored around his skill set.
