Panthers running back Jonathan Stewart
had surgery performed on his left ankle Friday. It's the same ankle that Stewart sprained back in Week 12 and kept him sidelined for the rest of the year.
"just had my left ankle scoped yesterday to clean up some stuff so now my recovery from my injury early on in the season will rehab just fine," Stewart said on his Facebook page.
Stewart gained 336 yards on 93 carries this season.
Fantasy Analysis:
Stewart should be fine in time for offseason workouts, but he has some red flags. He dealt with ankle injuries basically all season and is building quite a history of foot, toe and ankle ailments. The Panthers are also looking for a new offensive coordinator, and that will have an impact on Stewart's 2013 value. I'll be keeping my distance from him in fantasy drafts.
