The agents of Dolphins running back Daniel Thomas have told the Miami Herald that he needed knee surgery last month. The surgery was connected to the injury that forced Thomas to miss the final two games of the season. However, Thomas is expected to be back in time to participate in spring workouts.
Fantasy Analysis:
The more important news for Thomas' fantasy stock is that the Herald's Barry Jackson says Thomas "has fallen behind Lamar Miller
in the organization's eyes." That's no surprise considering Thomas fumbled three times with just 91 carries and averaged 3.6 yards per rush. Only four RBs with as many carries had a lower yards-per-carry average. Reggie Bush
is a free agent, but I expect him to be back with the Dolphins at a discounted rate next season, so Thomas could very well end up third on the official depth chart before long.
