The Chargers have the Ravens to thank for their new head coach. On Tuesday, Broncos offensive coordinator Mike McCoy agreed to become San Diego's replacement for Norv Turner. McCoy had been the Broncos' OC since 2009. During that time, he helped Kyle Orton put up the best seasons of his career, retooled the team's offense for Tim Tebow that led to a playoff victory, and oversaw the season in which Peyton Manning could be named Comeback Player of the Year and Most Valuable Player. Now he will turn his attention to Philip Rivers, who has seen his completion percentage and touchdown rates drop over the past two seasons while he has committed 47 turnovers in his last 32 games.
Fantasy Analysis:
But without the Ravens pulling out that double-overtime victory in Denver on Saturday, the Chargers wouldn't have been able to interview McCoy on Monday and get him to accept the gig today. As stated above, he has gotten the best out of a few very different QBs; he should be able to do the same with Rivers.
