Bears hire Marc Trestman head coach, Aaron Kroemer as offensive coordinator

The Bears went north of the border to find their next head coach. They hired Marc Trestman, who has been the head coach of the Montreal Alouettes of the CFL for the past fives years and led them to back-to-back Grey Cup championships in 2009 and 2010, on Wednesday. Trestman has many years of NFL experience, mostly coaching quarterbacks. He has coached, among others, Bernie Kosar, Steve Young and Rich Gannon. Gannon was named NFL MVP with Trestman as his offensive coordinator in 2002. He is also familiar with Bears quarterback Jay Cutler after coaching him in pre-draft camps as he was coming out of Vanderbilt in 2006.
Trestman will be introduced at a Thursday press conference at 11 a.m. Central Time.
Trestman will call the plays, but the Bears also named Aaron Kroemer their offensive coordinator on Wednesday. Kroemer was the Saints' interim head coach for the first six games this season but spent most of his four seasons in New Orleans as the offensive line coach.

Fantasy Analysis:

Trestman hasn't been a coach in the NFL since 2004, and I have no idea if he's the right man to get the Bears where they want to be, but they have to do something to get their offense near up to par with their defense. Trestman should be able to get the most out of Cutler.
