Steelers unlikely to franchise WR Mike Wallace

Pittsburgh Steelers general manager Kevin Colbert said recently that it is "very doubtful" the team will place a franchise tag on wide receiver MIke Wallace. He added, "I don't think we have too many franchise players. We're not married to anybody." Wallace finished 2012 with 64 receptions, 838 yards and eight TDs. It was his least productive year since his rookie season back in 2009.

Fantasy Analysis:

Despite Wallace's relative struggles this year, he is going to be a highly-coveted free agent. He has already proven many times that he can break a game wide open downfield and will only be 27 years old at the start of the 2013 season. Fantasy owners should definitely keep an eye on where he ends up. His redraft value may dip, but given the right situation, he can be a high-upside fantasy WR2. Obviously if he leaves Pittsburgh, Antonio Brown @AntonioBrown84 would become the clear-cut WR1 in Pittsburgh and would dramatically increase his fantasy value.
