The Philadelphia Inquirer & Daily News is speculating that based on new head coach Chip Kelly's press conference Thursday, the Philadelphia Eagles' starting quarterback for 2013 "is not likely on the current roster." Kelly was introduced and quickly expressed that nothing is on or off the table as far as personnel is concerned. Quarterback Michael Vick
is owed $15.5 million in 2013. Thursday afternoon, Kelly told ESPN that he has not decided what to do with Vick by stating, "I don't have the answer. I know what a talent he is and have marveled of Michael since he was at Virginia Tech."
Fantasy Analysis:
Vick is guaranteed $3 million of his 2013 $15.5 million salary on March 11. It was previously considered a lock that Vick would return to the team next season, but Kelly's hiring changes that. The 32-year-old is coming off an injury-shortened season, is owed tons of money over the next few years, and Kelly may be leaving the door open for a potential change. A read-option offense led by Vick would certainly be a good fit though.
