Indianapolis Colts pass rusher Dwight Freeney
was not a good fit in a 3-4 defense, which is why it is not expected that he will re-sign with the organization. He is scheduled to be a free agent next season. He only had five sacks in 2012 and really struggled both in coverage and against the run. He will turn 33 years old in February so he still might have a year or two left if he can find a 4-3 defense to play with.
Fantasy Analysis:
This news shouldn't come as a surprise and has been rumored for months. Freeney could still be a good fit as a situational player on passing downs. He ranks 21st all-time in sacks (107.5). The seven-time Pro Bowler has played his whole career with the Colts after being drafted out of Syracuse. There are currently no rumors regarding any possible interested teams.
