Green Bay Packers running backs coach Alex Van Pelt told the Green Bay Gazette that running back James Starks 
is best-suited as a change-of-pace back. The Packers leaned heavily on Cedric Benson early in the season and relied on DuJuan Harris , Alex Green , and even Ryan Grant at different times during the 2012 season. This running back carosuel may appear like a depth-rich position, but the Packers left open the possiblity of drafting a workhorse back.
Fantasy Analysis:
Grant is unlikely to return after being re-signed late in the year. Injuries were the main concern throughout the year as back after back was in and out of the starting lineup. Van Pelt reiterated that no back on the roster was a true "every-down guy." Green Bay prides itself on drafting and developing players, as noted in this cited article. Benson may be a short-term answer and the safe choice once he is able to return but a long-term solution is still needed. Green Bay also has second-year back Brandon Saine on the roster.
