Despite still recovering from an ACL injury, the New York Jets are fielding multiple offers for cornerback Darrelle Revis
. According to Mike Freeman from CBS, the current asking price is a first and second round pick for the 27-year-old corner. Since being selected in the first round of the 2007 NFL Draft, Revis has been to four Pro Bowls, awarded First-team All-Pro three times, and won the AFC Defensive Player of the Year in 2009. Freeman listed Denver, San Francisco, Seattle, and Buffalo (although they are off the table as a division rival).
Fantasy Analysis:
Big trades like this do not happen often in the NFL, but one comes to mind. The Redskins traded away Champ Bailey
to Denver for Clinton Portis, although that deal did not translate into much postseason success for either team. Perhaps the 49ers could package draft picks and Alex Smith for a possible deal. Revis could go on to have a Bailey-esque career. Both players were considered to be the best at their craft at the time of the trades, assuming Revis is dealt before the draft.
