ESPN's Adam Schefter reported that the Tennessee Titans have hired former New Orleans Saints defensive coordinator Gregg Williams as assistant head coach. Williams has not yet been reinstated officially by the NFL after being suspended indefinitely due to New Orleans' bounty scandal and missed the entire 2012 season. Titans DC Jerry Gray previously worked with Williams while in Buffalo. Schefter speculated that Williams could be reinstated before the Super Bowl.
Fantasy Analysis:
Williams has dodged the glare of the spotlight surrounding this bounty scandal, but once he re-enters the NFL, the questions will certainly follow. Careers move on, drama fades. As long as he abides by the rules from here on out, he deserves the opportunity to be able to work at his craft. Williams has been in the NFL since 1990, spending time with the Houston Oilers, Tennessee Titans, Buffalo Bills, Washington Redskins, Jacksonville Jaguars, and of course, the Saints.
