Rueben Randle considered 'heavy favorite' to be Giants' No. 3 WR next season

The Giants still need to decide what they are going to do with restricted free agent Victor Cruz, but it's all but a given that he will be staying in New York next season. That means defenses should have their hands full again trying to stop Cruz and Hakeem Nicks. And that should leave a lot of open space for Rueben Randle @RuebenRandle, who is the "heavy favorite" to claim the team's No. 3 WR gig next season, according to Michael Eisen of Giants.com.
"Clearly, he needs to provide more consistent production," Eisen wrote about Randle. "But the Giants believe he will do that as an NFL sophomore. ... Assuming he stays healthy, I would be very surprised if [Randle] didn't at least double his number of reception next season."

Fantasy Analysis:

Randle caught 19 passes as a rookie. He had a small breakout in Week 17 as he caught two touchdowns versus the Eagles. There is no question that he is the most natural wide receiver on the squad behind Nicks and Cruz. He shouldn't face much opposition for the No. 3 job since Domenik Hixon is a free agent. Randle has size and speed and is definitely worth monitoring in all leagues, dynasty leagues especially. However, one stat of note: The Giants have had a trio of wide receivers surpass 650 yards in a single season only once since 2006.
