Now that the Eagles have re-signed Michael Vick
and added free agent quarterback Dennis Dixon, Nick Foles
could be the odd man out in Philadelphia. If so, the man that drafted him last year - Andy Reid - is apparently interested in bringing the rising second-year passer to Kansas City. The Chiefs still have Matt Cassel under contract, but unless he agress to a contract redo, probably not for long. They also own the No. 1 overall selection in the 2013 NFL Draft in a year without a consensus stud passer.
Fantasy Analysis:
Vick and Dixon are more ideally suited for Eagles' new coach Chip Kelly fast breaking offensive designs than Foles so there shouldn't be much shock about this rumor or should a deal go down. While going through the usual rookie roller coaster, Foles threw for 1,699 yards and six touchdowns with five interceptions in seven games for Philadelpha last season. Considering the QB options entering the league last season Foles hardly stood out, yet also had strong moments under Reid's direction. Considering the uncertainty about the Chiefs receiving corps for next season, it's hard imagining Foles as anything more than a low-end and speculative QB2, yet adding him for the right price (middle-round pick) makes more sense for the Chiefs than selecting a QB with the No. 1 overall pick.
