UPDATE: Giants news: Starting RB job is up for grabs; WR Hakeem Nicks recovering from surgery

When asked Friday whom the Giants' starting running back will be next season, head coach Tom Coughlin basically listed the entire roster.
"David Wilson @4stillRunning, Andre Brown @drebrown35, Da'Rel Scott @DaRelScott_RB," Coughlin said via Ralph Vacchiano of the New York Daily News. "There's a few guys that will compete for that job."
Coughlin also revealed that wide receiver Hakeem Nicks is currently recovering from offseason arthroscopic surgery. However, Coughlin didn't say what part of Nicks' body got scoped.

Update: The Newark Star-Ledger reports that Nicks' scope was performed on his left knee, which he injured back in Week 2 last season.

Fantasy Analysis:

Of course, Coughlin isn't going to hint toward his starting running back in February, especially when none of them have more than 100 career carries. Wilson remains the huge favorite and my official 2013 fantasy man-crush. As I've said multiple times since the Giants cut Ahmad Bradshaw, Wilson is an easy top-20 RB right now, without question.
Nicks missed four games last season due to knee and foot problems. He has never made it through an entire 16-game slate and has missed at least two games in three of his four pro seasons. I don't doubt his talent, but I definitely doubt his body. This latest scope shouldn't be a big long-term deal; it's just another reminder that injury concerns follow Nicks wherever he goes.
