Last week, Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski
had his left forearm operated on for the third time in four months. The latest procedure was needed to clean out an infection in the forearm, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter and Field Yates. Sources told the writers that the infection was found early enough that it shouldn't cause any future problems, and Gronkowski should be ready for training camp.
Gronkowski broke that forearm against the Colts on Nov. 18. He then broke it again early in the Patriots' playoff game versus the Texans on Jan. 13.
Fantasy Analysis:
OK, I have insisted that I am not concerned about Gronkowski's forearm affecting his 2013 fantasy value, but this is getting stupid. But, yes, Gronk should be ready for training camp -- whether this surgery will hold him out of some OTAs is unknown -- and let us pray that this is the last time he needs to take that arm into the OR. He is the No. 1 fantasy tight end.
