The Bills have released quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick less than two years after they agreed on a six-year, $59 million contract. Since then, the Bills have gone 9-20, Fitzpatrick has committed 44 turnovers in 29 games, and the organization has lost faith in him. That lost faith was made public when Bills general manager Buddy Nix admitted to Buccaneers general manager Mark Dominik last week that the team couldn't afford to pay so much money for a player "who's fighting probably for a backup job." What those two men didn't know is that they were being illegally recorded by some other people, who originally set out to prank-call Nix.
Fantasy Analysis:
In any case, Fitzpatrick is out of a job, and the Bills' best QB currently under contract is probably Tarvaris Jackson
. Fitzpatrick is more of a backup, but a high-quality one at that. He shouldn't have problem finding work. The Bills, however, have a big problem since there are no top-flight QBs available in the draft or free agency. This situation is not good for Stevie Johnson
or C.J. Spiller
or any one who is a part of that Buffalo offense, really.
