The Jaguars released wide receiver Laurent Robinson
on Wednesday. The move is not surprising after Robinson suffered four concussions during 2012, leaving his NFL future is heavily in doubt. He turned a breakout season with the Cowboys in 2011 into a five-year contract worth $32 million from Jacksonville, but that partnership last just ten months. The 27-year-old missed nine games last season due to those concussions.
Fantasy Analysis:
The fantasy impact here is minimal. This is more about a person's well-being. Robinson was medically cleared during his post-season physical and has said that he wants to keep playing in the NFL. But four concussions in such a short period of time should give him pause. I hope everything ends up well for Robinson, but I don't think a team is going to touch him given his history. I think his NFL career is effectively over.
