The Titans knew who they wanted to be their second-string quarterback this season, and they swiftly went about making sure they got their man on Monday. Hours after releasing Matt Hasselbeck, the Titans signed former Bills quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick to a two-year contract. Fitzpatrick, 30, was cut by Buffalo last week, two seasons into a six-year, $59 million deal. Of course, Hasselbeck has no regrets about the change; he signed with the Colts on Monday night.
Fantasy Analysis:
Fitzpatrick will get plenty of snaps as Jake Locker continues to rehab from surgery on his left (non-throwing) shoulder. But when Locker is ready to go, Fitzpatrick will take a back seat. For Tennessee, I think it's a good upgrade over Hasselbeck. Yeah, Fitzpatrick is turnover-prone, but he also had stretches with the Bills in which he took over games. He is a quality backup.
