Seahawks HC Pete Carroll: QB Russell Wilson 'is going to bust out'

By all accounts, Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson @DangeRussWilson was pretty good in 2012. As a third-round rookie, he won the starting job out of camp and finished the year ranked inside the top 10 in touchdowns, completion percentage and yards per attempt, and came within seconds of leading his team to the NFC Championship game. But that was apparently small potatoes to head coach Pete Carroll. When Carroll was asked by a fan on Twitter whom his breakout player for 2013 is, he brought up Wilson.
"I think he's going to do really well this year," Carroll said of Wilson. "He's going to bust out and will benefit tremendously from his first year. It may be hard to imagine he's going to get any better, but I think he's going to get a lot better, being he was a first-year starter, first time in the league."

Fantasy Analysis:

When most think of breakout players, they consider guys who have the talent to be a star but haven't yet shined. Wilson is already a star, and the arrow is pointing straight up for him in his second year. One of the chief reasons for that is the acquisition of Percy Harvin to improve the Seahawks' passing game and offense overall.
Wilson really began to blossom during the second half of last season and scored 22 times in the final nine regular-season games. Carroll's right when he says Wilson can be even better this year, and that's a scary thought. With the weapons surrounding him, his smarts as a passer, and his running ability, Wilson has top-5 QB upside in fantasy.
