Cowboys picture RB Joseph Randle as DeMarco Murray's backup

Cowboys running back DeMarco Murray @DeMarcoMurray suffered a broken ankle in 2011. He missed six games due to a sprained foot in 2012. And he had plenty of injury issues while at the University of Oklahoma. Simply, he's not a good bet to ever make it through a full NFL season. Thus, knowing whom to handcuff to Murray is crucial for fantasy owners. And according to owner and general manager Jerry Jones, that guy just joined the team on Saturday -- fifth-round pick Joseph Randle @JRAN_1.
"We pictured [Randle] as the second running back behind Murray," Jones said Saturday.
Jones also indicated that Randle wouldn't be a candidate to play on special teams; they want him to be the backup.

Fantasy Analysis:

Lance Dunbar @Dunbar_CDB5 and Philip Tanner fill out Dallas' RB depth chart, so while Randle will have to prove himself in camp, he should be able to claim that No. 2 gig. He is not a speed merchant -- he ran a 4.63 40-yard dash at the combine -- but he is an accomplished pass catcher. Keep an eye on Randle in July and August, and make sure he's on your draft radar, especially if you are so bold as to accept Murray's injury history.
