Titans may be preparing for future without WR Kenny Britt

In the 2012 NFL Draft, the Tennessee Titans added former Baylor wide receiver Kendall Wright. Just a week ago, they drafted former Tennessee Volunteers wide receiver Justin Hunter @justinhunter_11. Although Hunter is still raw at his position, he's a legit athlete and the Nashville Tennesseean speculates that the Titans are ready to move on with or without Kenny Britt @KennyBritt_18. David Climer, the author of the article, describes it succinctly: "[Hunter] has Kenny Britt's ability without the baggage."

Fantasy Analysis:

Well, there you have it, ladies and gentlemen. Hopefully Britt skipped this morning's newspaper otherwise that next post-practice interview with Climer might become a little awkward. The truth is though, Hunter is a better athlete and even though there are some character concerns, they mostly have to do with focus and work ethic. The rookie will need a redshirt year to really refine his talents and attention to detail. He will flash his talents though on more than one occasion, as most rookies do. The question revolves around whether he can fully tap into that potential and how soon (or long) will it take him.

Give me a break. Kenny Britt basically matched Kendall Wright's production while recovering from major knee surgery where it was clear he wasn't 100%. The coaching staff said they held him back, and he still matched Wright.

He's bigger, faster and stronger than Wright and outproduced him on every level. If Kenny Britt isn't in jail or injured, he'd better be on the field for the Titans.

Wrights' production is not in question.

Britt is a fool that always get in trouble or is always injured. Would you want an employee like that? No, So they decided to draft a player who can produce like him without the baggage.

Britt = big, faster and stronger, BUT you seemed to have forgotten he's more unintelligent and someone who fails to abide by the law. That's kinda important Marc...

@MPMarc- You have to expect Kenny Britt to out produce Wright! Wright was in his Rookie Year.
We will have to see what Britt does this year, and if he doesn't produce the way The titans would like him too in his Contract year then he will be on his way out

No doubt Britt is a knucklehead. I even had to preface the statement with him being out of jail and uninjured. There is no doubt, however, that he is the most talented wide receiver on their roster. The guy they drafted is not in the same realm of talent. He's a project. Wright will play better in the slot. Britt is the only one on the roster with elite potential.

If Britt gets cut, he'll be on the Patriots breaking records making Munchak and crew look dumb. Let's hope it doesn't come to that.

Some evaluators feel Hunter's athleticism is "once in a decade". Even though everybody knows Britt is talented, it's just a risk-reward analysis. Some people think he's worth the trouble for when he finally figures it out, some don't while many think he'll never figure it out.
