Packers rookie RB Eddie Lacy says he's playing Week 1

The Green Bay Packers went all-in at the running back position by selecting Alabama's Eddie Lacy and UCLA's Jonathan Franklin. The Pack may already have DuJuan Harris @Ol_sLy_Foxx, Alex Green @AGreen_20 and James Starks @James44Starks, but that doesn't mean the rookies don't factor into their immediate plans. In fact, Lacy has already told reporters he "expects to see work when the season starts." Green led the team in rushing yards last season with only 464 yards on 135 carries. Someone must emerge from the pack and provide the team some consistency and Lacy appears up for the challenge.

Fantasy Analysis:

There are some concerns with Lacy's toe, which is rumored to have required a surgery while he was in college the could keep him in pain to some extent for the remainder of his career. On the other hand, let's not discount the high-scoring nature of the Packers' offense. If they had a more consistent runner, they are in the red zone enough to get at least 8 to 10 scores for a dedicated back. That kind of production is nothing to shy away from, it's just a matter of pre-determining who will become the man for the cheeseheads.

Lacy, Franklin, Harris, Green, Starks,...Hell, throw in O.J...No Packer RB will ever be fantasy relevant. Green Bay uses the run game to set up the pass...PERIOD.
