Patriots TE Rob Gronkowski still a couple of weeks from knowing if he needs 4th forearm surgery
Rob Gronkowski reportedly looks great in the Patriots' offseason program, but over the next couple of weeks, a decision will be made that could keep Gronkowski from playing football for a long time. He has an infection in his left forearm and has been hoping it will clear with time. Surgery is a possibility, and according to ESPN Boston, the last month has basically been a "wait-and-see" period, with Gronkowski buying more time for the infection to go away. If it doesn't and if Gronkowski needs a fourth surgery in the past eight months on that forearm, multiple reports have stated he might not be ready to play in time for Week 1.
Gronk's regular-season status is still up in the air, but he has been setback-free for a while now, so that's something. Until he goes under the knife, he remains the top fantasy football tight end.
