Eagles QB Michael Vick taking first-team snaps

Though new Eagles coach Chip Kelly has declared a QB competition, Michael Vick @MikeVick took the first-team snaps during the team's mini-camp, so said wide receiver Jeremy Maclin. Second-year passer Nick Foles @NFoles8 also picked up some work during Thursday's session. Veteran Dennis Dixon and fourth-round pick Matt Barkley will ultimately battle for depth chart status along with Foles.

Fantasy Analysis:

This news stuns nobody, but at least we might be moving closer to officially ending the pretense of a supposed QB battle. Vick, who turns 33 in June, certainly has his issues and nobody imagines him playing all 16 games. Still, he gives Philadelphia the best chance for success especially with Kelly's up-tempo offense. No longer considered a fantasy starter, Vick does offer some upside intrigue as a high-end QB2.

If....you can snag Vick in the late Rnds of your draft, it could...be the sleeper you need to put you in your play-offs. With this new offense Vick should burn very bright but...very fast. If he gets hot, Trade him as soon as possible for your missing piece, and turn a late Rnd flyer into a 1st or 2nd Rnd RB/WR. Worse-case scenario, you get a pretty good QB2.
