Redskins WR Pierre Garcon recovering from labrum surgery

Pierre Garcon @PierreGarcon underwent surgery for a torn labrum after the season, the Redskins wide receiver revealed on Thursday during an interview on ESPN's "NFL Live. "It was a small surgery; it wasn't nothing major," Garcon said while coach Mike Shanahan deemed the recovery "unbelievable" during the team's OTA.The former Colt did not specify which shoulder was injured. He is expected to be ready for training camp. In his first season with Washington after signing a five-year, $42 million contract, Garcon played in 10 games, hauling in 44 receptions for 633 yards and four touchdowns.

Fantasy Analysis:

Obviously Robert Griffin III's presence uplifted the Redskins entire program, but Washington's offense lacked the same pop when Garcon missed games after tearing a ligament in right toe during the season opener. Seeing as the Redskins will essentially return the same receiving corps including Santana Moss and Josh Morgan, nothing may change in that scenario. Garcon still generated fantasy production even with Kirk Cousins at quarterback, which is a distinct possibility with RGIII recovering from knee surgery. Consider Garcon a WR2 in most formats.
