Jaguars RB Maurice Jones-Drew could be charged with misdemeanor battery

It was reported Tuesday that Jaguars running back Maurice Jones-Drew @Jones_Drew32 had been charged with misdemeanor battery after he allegedly punched a security guard Sunday night in Florida. Not so fast, according to Ryan O'Halloran of the Florida-Times Union. A source has told him that Jones-Drew has yet to be arrested or charged, and an investigation is ongoing.
According to a police report, witnesses said a friend of Jones-Drew's was told by security at a restaurant in St. Augustine to stop touching a woman. That man responded by slapping one of the guards on his chest, and a fight ensued. During the fight, the guard put the friend in a headlock; Jones-Drew then allegedly approached the guard and punched him with a closed fist on the left side of the head, knocking him out.
The guard was hospitalized and diagnosed with contusions and a bone bruise but no broken bones. The Jaguars released a statement in which they said they were "aware of the situation regarding Maurice Jones-Drew and are in the process of gathering more information. Due to this being a legal matter, we'll have no further comment at this time."

Fantasy Analysis:

MJD is currently rehabbing his left foot after he underwent surgery in December for a Lisfranc fracture that basically ended his 2012 season in October. From what we've heard in the past, he should be reaching 100 percent soon. We will wait to see what comes of this incident, but right now, it doesn't sound like Jones-Drew's 2013 season will be impacted.
