Redskins RB Roy Helu expects to be healthy by training camp

As a rookie, Redskins running back Roy Helu @royhelujr29 averaged more than four yards per carry and gained more than 1,000 yards from scrimmage in 15 games and with just 200 touches.
In his second season, Helu ... did nothing. Almost literally nothing. He caught seven passes and rushed two times for a grand total of 47 yards. He didn't see any action past September due to Achilles tendon soreness and a season-ending turf toe injury. He underwent surgery to repair some cartilage in the toe in February and despite some setbacks, he told Zac Boyer of the Free Lance-Star he expects to be 100 percent by the start of training camp. Helu is not participating in any organized team activities.

Fantasy Analysis:

A little too late, no? I loved Helu leading into 2012, but he broke down as Alfred Morris was breaking out. Unless his head coach wants to institute an extreme case of Shanahanigans, Helu will be nothing more than a reserve and pretty useless in fantasy leagues. He'll have to battle Evan Royster @Evan_Royster and a couple of rookies, Chris Thompson and Jawan Jamison, for playing time.
