49ers' Anquan Boldin looking like a No. 1 WR during OTAs

49ers head coach Jim Harbaugh said Tuesday that wide receiver Anquan Boldin @AnquanBoldin has "picked up the system fast and making plays, big catches in tight areas."
That's how Matt Barrows of the Sacramento Bee made it sound when describing Boldin on the practice field, saying that Boldin made a "victim" out of linebacker Patrick Willis and other defenders in coverage.
"Boldin caught several passes from Kaepernick, including one during a two-minute drill at the end of practice," Barrows wrote. "He also was the top target for the team's other three quarterbacks -- Colt McCoy, Scott Tolzien and rookie B.J. Daniels. In all, Boldin caught eight passes, one of them a touchdown snag between two defenders on a pass from Daniels."

Fantasy Analysis:

Again, take OTA results with a grain of salt. He is a nice outlet for Kaepernick to have, but he is no longer a No. 1 WR at this level at the age of 32. That's pretty clear if you have watched him the past couple of seasons. That doesn't mean Boldin won't have fantasy value, but you shouldn't be expecting a huge increase from the numbers he has posted recently -- about 900 yards with a handful of scores. He could be in the WR3 class, but I think tight end Vernon Davis will end up being the Niners' most productive receiver.
