Vikings WR Greg Jennings working on chemistry with QB Christian Ponder

Greg Jennings @GregJennings hasn't had to learn how to work with a new quarterback since 2008, and he had plenty of success with Aaron Rodgers. Jennings signed with the Vikings during the offseason, meaning it's time for him to learn once again, this time with Christian Ponder @cponder7. He told ESPN1500.com earlier this week that he and Ponder are working on building a strong rapport.
"We were talking after practice and what not, just talking about what he sees, how I see it, so we can be on the same page," Jennings said. "... With a guy like Christian, he's very smart. You pick each other's brains, and once you're on the field, that chemistry starts to form itself."

Fantasy Analysis:

That's all well and good, but it wasn't just chemistry that made Rodgers-to-Jennings a great connection. That kid, Rodgers, he's a halfway decent player. He made Jennings' job much easier. It's not going to be anywhere near that easy with Ponder. Plus, Jennings is aging past his physical prime and has suffered injuries more frequently in recent seasons. He missed 11 games in 2011 and 2012 combined, and he will turn 30 in September. Ponder's obvious faults as a quarterback will lead to Jennings' overall numbers suffering, even if he does stay healthy. I think Jennings should be drafted as nothing more than a WR3 in the first year of that fat, five-year contract he inked in March. Jennings has missed some OTAs lately due to a sore ankle, but the team considers it a nonissue.
