Redskins RB Roy Helu finally practices; TE Fred Davis to sit out mandatory minicamp

More Redskins injury news, but sans Robert Griffin III. Running back Roy Helu @royhelujr29 practiced on Thursday for the first time this offseason. He had not been on a field since September, when placed on injured reserve for a toe injury that required surgery in February.
While Helu is back, tight end Fred Davis remains on the sidelines. Head coach Mike Shanahan said Thursday that he will hold Davis out of next week's mandatory minicamp.
"He might be able to go next week, but I'm going to keep him away even if he wants to go," Shanahan said of Davis.

Fantasy Analysis:

If the Redskins had to play a regular-season game next week, Davis would most likely suit up. But there's nothing wrong with playing it safe with a guy coming off a torn Achilles. Davis should be OK for training camp, and is a TE2 to start the season.
Helu will be vying to be Alfred Morris' backup, but if he can get that gig, Helu will be someone to watch closely just in case Alfred Morris gets hurt.
