Rams will keep RB Isaiah Pead in 2013 plans despite suspension
Running back Isaiah Pead was suspended by the league last week, but the Rams won't exacerbate Pead's punishment. Head coach Jeff Fisher said Thursday that he likes how Pead is handling himself under his circumstances, and he will not be penalized further with a lack of playing time during the preseason.
"We're getting ready for a long haul and we'll be without [Pead] for one week, which we understand, but it doesn't complicate things," Fisher said.
Pead was suspended for one game for a violation of the league's substance-abuse policy that occurred last summer. The suspension was made public on Friday.
Pead will compete with Daryl Richardson and Zac Stacy for carries. This battle is so wide open, and all three will get their shot to take the starting job. In this end, this could be a rotating backfield all season long.
