Bills release QB Tarvaris Jackson
Tarvaris Jackson was slated to be the Bills' third-string quarterback this season. Now he will need to find some other team to make him their third-string quarterback (or possibly second). The Bills announced Monday that they have released Jackson, who never played a down for the team after they acquired him last August for a seventh-round draft pick from Seattle. Although Jackson was on the field for the first snap of organized team activities, Kevin Kolb and rookie E.J. Manuel will take all of the snaps during mandatory minicamp this week.
Jackson now becomes the "best" option on the QB free-agent market; take that for what it's worth. He will always be a backup, fighting just for a second-string role. He has absolutely no fantasy value. I fully expect Manuel to be Buffalo's starting quarterback come Week 1.
