Chiefs RB Jamaal Charles on running for 2,000 yards this season: 'Why not?'
That wasn't really the crux of Jamaal Charles ' conversation with NFL Network on Thursday, but it makes for the most attractive headline.
So, yes, Charles said it is possible that 2,000 yards is in his near future, and he continued to express his love for the Chiefs' new offense, which will include some sets out of the pistol offense. That makes Charles happy.
"I ain't never been around no offense that's about to be explosive and about to put me in space and making me make plays," Charles said as a guest on "NFL AM."
Putting Charles in the pistol formation is just another wrinkle for the Chiefs as they continue to explore different ways to get their best player involved. Don't worry about 2,000 yards; Charles is going to be plenty productive. He'll be especially valuable in PPR leagues since he will likely catch at least 60 passes this season.
